Welcoming
Another important part of our Transportation Plan is introducing proposals to improve visitors` satisfaction as well as increase the tourism activity within the City of Jerusalem. We have set goals to make transportation in Jerusalem easier and more attractive to tourists. We aim to attract more tourists by introducing a multilingual Public Transport App, providing them with clear instructions on how to use public transport as well as creating public transport signs and descriptions in different languages.
Public Transport App
Getting inspired by the new City App in Bucharest, we would like to introduce a multilingual Public Transport App that will make traveling within Jerusalem cashless and will offer different ticket options to the travelers. Our new App will remove the need for passengers to have the right amount of change as well as the need for passengers to wait in line to purchase a ticket.
Multilingual
Jerusalem has around 4.1 million tourist arrivals annually and the largest percentage of tourists come from the United States accounting for 19%. followed by France, Russia, Germany, Britain, and China. This is why our new Transportation App will be available in the following languages; Hebrew, English, French, Russian German, Chinese.
quality improvements
We aim to improve the quality of public transports, by coordinating the different operators of the busses and trams and creating criteria for their services, consistent timetables as well as safety norms. We also want to introduce AFC (Automatic Fare Collection System) for different kinds of transportation modes.
AFC (Automatic Fare Collection)
This automatic ticketing system of a public transportation network is quick and easy to use, it will decrease the number of staff required, and it reduces ticketless travel.
