AT THE PUBLIC TRANSPORTS

  • Suitable floors for people with disabilities (similar to the floors on the streets)

  • Suitable maps for blinds and for autistic persons (more colors, pictures, details)

  • Appropriate sounds at the elevators (metro) with instructions that blinds, autistic persons can follow. Example: ''in 10 seconds the door closes, in 5 seconds you arrive at the first floor)

  • Doors easily opened with the minimum effort that a disabled person can give. We need simple doors and not complex ones

  • Appropriate seats at the subway and at the bus stations for disabled people

  • Accessible seats must be kept for passengers with disabilities. (Operators must inform all relevant passengers (by signage or similar systems) that they should vacate an identified priority seat or allocated space if a passenger with a disability requires it.)

Visual and Audio Announcement of Next Stop

  • In all public transportation, the announcement of the upcoming stop is an essential piece of information for passengers, all the more so if they are not familiar with the route. This information is often available on an illuminated panel. But it must also be given orally. Obviously, this is for those with a visual impairment but, more generally, it is for anyone who cannot read whether due to illiteracy or simply because of where they are sitting.

  • Some smartphone apps alert users to the moment when they should request their stop.

  • More parking spaces for disabled people

  • Boost the physical health by promoting more spaces for deports, walking running

  • More parks and squares with appropriate equipment for old people, children and persons with disabilities to play/exercise/breathe
